Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

  1. The guidelines for manuscript writing in Borneo Journal of English Language Education (BJELE), Universitas Borneo Tarakan follows Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA Style).
  2. The manuscripts can be written in English by considering the correctness of the grammar. Manuscript in English should be written in past tense.
  3. Manuscript written in English by non-English speakers should be checked by English editors.
  4. The manuscripts should be written in MS Word, paper format A4 (210 x 297 mm) single column, and simple layout. The authors are encouraged to utilize MS word facilities to write and edit the manuscript (bold, italics, subscript, superscript, equation, etc).
  5. All the text in the manuscript should be written using Times New Roman.
  6. The word count in the manuscript should not exceed 4000-8000 words or about 8-15 pages, including pictures, graphics, and tables.
  7. Pictures and tables are used to visualize information in the manuscript that is difficult to explain. The authors should ensure that the pictures are in good quality for printing.
  8. The authors will only receive the link of their published article journal. If the authors require one exemplar or more of their printed published article journal, they should pay a certain amount of money.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
