Author Guidelines

BORNEO LAW REVIEW JOURNAL

Type of Article

Jurnal Hukum Borneo Law Review accepts two types of the article both are research article and review article. The article that will be submitted to the journal is an article that has not been published or is considered to be published in another journal.

Article Submission

The author could submit his/her article online through journal homepage http://jurnal.borneo.ac.id/index.php/bolrev by simply clicking the submission menu and register as a user of Jurnal Hukum Borneo Law Review by selecting the role as an author and a reader.

Article Format

We expect the article to be written in either 15 pages or 20 pages and formatted in A4 paper size. The font used in the article is Cambria with various sizes based on the provided template. The writing systematization is detailed as below:

  1. 1.        Research Article

ARTICLE TOPIC

Abstract

The abstract should be clear, concise, and descriptive. It should provide a brief introduction to the problem, objective of paper, followed by a statement regarding the methodology and a summary of results. It is preferably not exceeding more than 300 words in total with a maximum of 5 keywords separated by a semicolon ( ; ).

Introduction

The introduction should be clear and provide the issue to be discussed in the manuscript. Before the objective, authors should provide an adequate background, and very short literature survey in order to record the existing solutions, to show which is the best of previous researches, to show the main limitation of the previous researches, to show what do you hope to achieve (to solve the limitation), and to show the scientific merit or novelties of the paper.

 Research Method

The method is written in descriptive and should provide a statement regarding the methodology of the research. This method as much as possible should give an idea to the reader through the methods used. This Method is optional, only for original research articles.

          Discussion and Analysis

This section is the most important section of your article. The analysis or results of the research should be clear and concise. The results should summarize (scientific) findings rather than providing data in great detail. Please highlight differences between your results or findings and the previous publications by other researchers.

Conclusion

The conclusion contains a description that should answer the objectives of the research. Provide a clear and concise conclusion. Do not repeat the Abstract or simply describe the results of the research. Give a clear explanation regarding the possible application and/or suggestions related to the research findings.

References

The minimum references are 15 and it must be based on 80% journals and 20% of books which published in the last 10 years. The citation style of the manuscript should be written in APA (American Psychological Association) both in the body text and references. Cite only items that you have read and on footnotes. Please use Reference Manager Applications like EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero, etc. Use other published articles in the same journal as models. All publications cited in the text should be included as a list of Bibliography, arranged alphabetically by author.

ARTICLE TOPIC

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
