PENERAPAN METODE JIGSAW PADA KETERAMPILAN MENULIS EKSPOSISI BAGI SISWA SMP

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan metode jigsaw pada keterampilan menulis eksposisi bagi siswa kelas VII/B di SMP negeri 13 Tarakan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan rancangan penelitian berupa Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Pelaksanaan tindakan terdiri dari dua siklus, yang masing-masing siklus meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, refleksi, dan observasi. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini berupa wawancara, observasi, dan tes. Subyek penelitiannya siswa kelas VII dan guru Bahasa Indonesia di SMP Negeri 13 Tarakan. Sumber data penelitian ini berupa hasil tulisan teks eksposisi siswa kelas VII/B. Hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa metode jigsaw dapat meningkatkan proses dan hasil belajar keterampilan menulis eksposisi siswa kelas VII B SMP Negeri 13 Tarakan. Siswa menjadi lebih antusias, aktif, dan menghasilkan tulisan eksposisi yang baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan keterampilan menulis eksposisi siswa sebelum di lakukan tindakan sebesar yang mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimal sebanyak 47%. Kemudian setelah di berikan tindakan pada sikulus pertama keterampilan mahasiswa menjadi 72% dan untuk siklus kedua keterampilan mahasiswa semakin meningkat menjadi 79%. Dengan demikian dapat dikatakan bahwa penerapan metode jigsaw dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis eksposisi bagi siswa kelas VII/B SMP Negeri 13 Tarakan

Abstract

This research aims to apply the Jigsaw method to the expository writing skills of class VII/B students at Tarakan 13 junior high school. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a research plan in the form of Classroom Action Research. Implementation of the action consists of two cycles; each cycle includes planning, implementation, reflection and observation stages. Data collection techniques in this research include interviews, observations and tests. The research subjects were class VII students and Indonesian language teachers at Tarakan 13 junior high school. The data source for this research is the results of written exposition texts from class VII/B students. The research results show that the Jigsaw method can improve the process and learning outcomes of expository writing skills for class VII B students at Tarakan 13 junior high school. Students become more enthusiastic and active and produce good expository writing. Based on the results of research that has been carried out, students' expository writing skills before taking action have reached the minimum completeness criteria of 47%. Then, after being given action in cycle I, students' skills became 72%, and in cycle II, students' skills increased to 79%. Thus, the application of the Jigsaw method can improve the exposition writing skills of class VII/B students at Tarakan 13 junior high school.
