Abstract

Work ethic is the value held by a person by showing the attitude they take and believe in when carrying out their work. The work ethic of students at SMK Negeri 2 Tarakan is still low with the behavior shown by students, namely often delaying doing assignments, not being confident in their abilities, trusting their friends more in doing or answering something, often copying/cheating on friend's assignments, often being late in carrying out their responsibilities, and several other things. Efforts that can be made to improve student's low work ethic are implementing group guidance services using simulation games techniques. This type of research was quantitative with a pre-experimental approach and a one group pre-test-post-test design. The sampling technique in this research used a purposive sampling technique, with a population of 508 students and a sample of 8 class X students. The data collection technique in this research used an instrument in the form of a likert scale regarding work ethic. Data analysis uses descriptive and inferential statistics using the paired samples t-test. Based on the result of this research, the calculation of the paired samples t-test obtained a sig (2-tailed) value for the two-way test of 0.000<0.05, then Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, which means that there is an influence of the application of simulation games techniques in group guidance services to improve ethos work of class X students at SMK Negeri 2 Tarakan.
