KAJIAN ETNOBIOLOGI DALAM PEMANFAATAN TUMBUHAN DAN HEWAN PADA UPACARA IRAW TENGKAYU SUKU TIDUNG DI KOTA TARAKAN, KALIMANTAN UTARA SERTA POTENSINYA SEBAGAI SUMBER BELAJAR BIOLOGI

Abstract


The goal of this research is to indentify plants and animals that is used in Iraw Tengkayu ceremony. The method that was used in this research was participatory rural appraisal (PRA). Selecting informant used snowball sampling. In addition, the number of informants is 15 people, who consist of tribe chiefs, sando (healers) and cultural practitioners. The result of research showed animal’s familia that was used in Iraw Tengkayu was only Familia Phasianidae. Meanwhile, The largest familia of plants that was used was Arecaceae (21%) and Dipterocarpaceae (13%). The result can be used as a main content and additional content in learning of ethnobotany and ethnozoology, especially in diversity of plants and animals used in community life.
