Focus and Scope

Jurnal Borneo Informatika dan Teknik Komputer (JBIT) (P-ISSN:  2808-8190, E-ISSN: 2808-6600) is a forum for academics and practitioners to publish scientific papers, research results, literature, and analytical studies that focus on the fields of computer science and computer engineering. JBIT is published regularly twice a year in April and October by the Computer Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Borneo Tarakan with 5 articles in each issue. The focus and scope of this journal is research and studies on the latest issues related to the field of computer science and computer engineering for the development of border areas and tropical marine resources.

The following is an explanation related to the JBIT field:

IoT and Embedded System, Robotics, Biomedical Engineering, Digital Networking and Multimedia, Information System, Cloud Computing, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Data Mining, Information Retrieval, Digital Signal Processing, Human Computer Interaction, Image Processing, Mobile Computing, Augmented Reality, Web Technologies, Network Security and Cryptography, Computing Languages and Algorithms.

The manuscripts submitted must be up-to-date articles and will be selected through a peer-reviewers process.

Peer Review Process

The submitted manuscript will be reviewed by at least one reviewers who will be asked to evaluate whether the manuscript is scientific, original and reasonable, whether it has been published before (duplication of work), and whether the manuscript is clear enough to be published.

The manuscript review process at JBIT is carried out using a double blind review process, so that the author does not know the reviewer of their manuscript and the reviewer does not know the author of the manuscript they are reviewing. The review process can take up to a maximum of 40 (forty) working days with the time allocation given to each partner in completing the review process is a maximum of 20 (twenty) working days.

If the previously appointed reviewers partner is unable to complete his review work within the specified deadline, the chairman of the editorial board will appoint a substitute reviewers partner to review the article. Reviewers recruitment is carried out openly based on the needs that exist in JBIT.

 

Open Access Policy

The JBIT provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Plagiarism Policy

Manuscripts published in the Jurnal Borneo Informatika dan Teknik Komputer (JBIT) must meet the provisions of being free from plagiarism. Therefore, manuscripts submitted to this journal will be checked for plagiarism using Unicheck: Plagiarism Checker. If at the initial examination the manuscript has a similarity greater than 30% (except citations and references) the manuscript will be automatically rejected and the manuscript review process will not continue. However, if it is less than 30%, the author will be asked to improve the similarity of the writing process and the manuscript will be processed to the next step.
